CANFORD BOWLERS MAKE A GOOD START TO THE SEASON

Of our seven Saturday mixed matches played against other clubs around Bristol since the start of the season in April we have won three. 

The Ladies have won three and lost three while their league team have the same tally and are in 6th place overall. Not to be outdone the Mens' league team have also won three and lost three and are similarly in 6th place. They have all had some notable victories.

We are delighted to welcome 4 new members to the club.  In a very short time, following their coaching sessions with our qualified member, one has progressed to playing club matches and the others will follow soon.

On Monday evenings the Club welcomes anyone interested in playing bowls.  You can pick up an information leaflet from the box by the Clubhouse gate.  It takes just minutes to learn the basics of the game and it is suitable for players of all ages.  We try to be relaxed about clothing for playing - "whites" are only required for matches against other Clubs.  For internal competitions and Monday night roll-ups, "grey below the belt and white above" is the simple ruling.
