Police appeal: Have you seen this man?

Devon and Cornwall Police are trying to trace a man who may be able to assist with enquiries into two recent incidents in Devon.

David Hughes.
In one incident a man ran up a substantial bill at a bed and breakfast in Yelverton and left without making any attempt to pay and took the keys with him. In the other incident three charity boxes were stolen from a pub in the Lydford area. Police believe they are connected.
The man officers would like to speak to is David Hughes. He is quite distinctive and he is believed to be walking, hitch-hiking or using public transport in the southwest.
He is described as being in his 70s, tall with untidy, very white hair. He has a strong Liverpool accent, wears walking boots and carries a brown bag.
He may be trying to pay with or change large amounts of loose change.
