The meeting scheduled for Saturday 28th July 12-2pm at Westbury village hall, when Tesco representatives were due to present their proposals for opening a Tesco Express store in the former Forresters pub, has been postponed. It will now probably take place in September.

Meanwhile Tesco have obtained planning permission for a new refridgeration unit at the rear of the building. They do not need planning permission for change of use from pub to food store, but they will need it to alter road markings on Westbury Hill to allow delivery vehicles to park.

Following the cancellation of the above meeting, Councillor Geoff Gollop has asked that a meeting still be held and will be happy to meet with anyone who has a view on the Tesco plans and discuss how we might proceed from here.

It will commence at 12 noon on Saturday 28 July at the Village Hall and last for about an hour.
