Woof Woof - It's happening again !

This Saturday, babies, children & adults are going
for walkies dressed as dogs to raise money for Wallace
& Gromit's Grand Appeal, the Bristol
Children's Hospital Charity!
Approximately
75 volunteers, mostly from the parent & baby singing group Wiggles &
Giggles, will be donning doggie outfits & taking the lead from
Quarry Park in Henleaze at 10.30am, all the way down to the hospital.
Organiser
Sadie Willis, who runs Wiggles & Giggles, said the original starting point
was Westbury Methodist Church as that's where Wiggles & Giggles meet, but
she's had such an amazing response from people wanting to take part that they
had to move to a bigger, open space. "It's incredible, I'm so proud of
my mums & babes, friends & family - it's gonna be such a fab day for
such a great charity. Everyone knows a child that has had to use the hospital
at some point."
The
event raised £1,000 for Wallace & Gromit Grand Appeal last year but with so
many taking part, they're hoping to smash that total on Saturday & are
aiming for £2,500.
Leo
Birch, Fundraiser for The Grand Appeal said "The amazing success of
this event is a testament to the hard work & dedication of the team from
Wiggles & Giggles & we are so grateful to them for their fantastic
fundraising! It will help make a huge difference for the thousands of children
from all over the South West & further afield who use Bristol Children's Hospital."
The pack will
head along Henleaze Road, into North View & over the Downs, then all the
way down Blackboy Hill, Whiteladies Road, Park Street & Park Row - stopping
en route hoping to collect donations from Saturday shoppers along the way.
Sadie
added "Everyone's buzzing about it - they say you shouldn't work with
children &/or animals but we had such a laugh even in this photo
shoot, I can't wait for Saturday! I'm looking forward to seeing all the other
costumes - everyone's made such an effort!"
Blue
Skies Photography are working closely with Sadie for the event & capturing
all the fun of the day, with any proceeds also going to The Grand Appeal. Simon Webb, owner of Blue Skies,
will be racing ahead on his bike to get some top shots of the litter.
He said "I must be barking mad to try taking photos dressed as a dog on
a bike. It's quite a long way so I may have to paws for a breath now
& then. Let's hope there's no bone of contention over the winner
- it's all for a good cause & I'm really looking forward to the
challenge!"
For
anyone wanting to join in or are happy to donate, it's not too late - simply
email sadie@wiggles-and-giggles.co.uk.
As
Wallace would say "Crackin' good job Gromit"
