Any Westbury-on-Trym People got a tried and tested recipe for sloe gin? The hedgerows are packed with them this year.

Yes,Try this one,it was given to my by the factor of an Estate in Scotland in the late '60,s.On a Grouse Shooting Holiday.

Simple, all done by volume,1 Pint of sloes.1 Pint of Sugar,1 Pint of Gin.Do NOT use Cheap supermarket gin,I use Gordons.Prick the Sloes, and put them and the rest in a large bottle shake daily,I rack mine off at about Easter time,TRY and leave it for at least 6 Months,Dont bother with almond essence as it is not needed.my usual place for sloes this year has none,so if you have any spare,or point me in the right direction? Thanks very much for that Sharpshooter. I actually got mine while visiting some friends on the other side of Bristol. They were in abundance there but they'll be going over soon - there's frost on the way next week.
