I've just been to an open morning at Elmfield School for Deaf Children, just outside WoT in Greystoke Ave. The school is facing closure despite a good Ofsted, and a strategic review by the Council that recommended that it stay open. It would be a tragedy to close a school which works so well, and has been an enormous help to many children who would otherwise have struggled to cope. The stories we were told were very moving, and I was entranced by a group of current students who 'sang' us a song in sign language. Absolutely enchanting. Keep up the good work, Elmfield!
