Westbury on Trym's Beauty Box has now been part of WoT's business community for three months. Westbury on Trym People spoke to Julia Vickers, age 38, owner of the salon about how the business is doing.

Julia said: "I worked from home as a freelance beauty therapist for three years before opening the salon.

"The response from Westbury on Trym people has been fantastic. I think the village really needed a reasonably-priced beauty salon.

"The first two or three weeks of opening was overwhelming, so many people came in for treatments, they were pleased I had opened.

"I have had to take on another therapist to help me. It is better than I expected."

Beauty Box attracts a range of people, men and women.

Julia said: "We offer a nice range of treatments from waxing - that includes intimate for male and female - Dermalogica facials, biosculpture gel nails, OPI manicures and pedicures to Indian head massage and purifying back treatment.

"My clients vary in ages, from a 12-year-old, who wanted eyebrow threading to an 82-year-old who had a manicure.

Julia added: "Beauty Box is in a great spot, near the roundabout. It is very handy for people to walk to and close to the free car park, too.

Beauty Box is open Monday to Friday 9am to 8pm and Saturday 8.30am to 4.30pm.

To book an appointment call in Beauty Box at 2A High Street or call Julia on 0117 950 7080 or 07812 462425.
