Hundreds of people tucked into cake and coffee to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Schools, churches and businesses all over Bristol, took part yesterday in the charity's World's Biggest Coffee Morning event, now in its 19th year.

Vanilla Gifts, in Westbury-on-Trym, served coffee and cakes and donated 10 per cent of its takings.

Keynsham Garden Centre's restaurant served tea in white china teapots and sold flapjacks and cookies for charity and donated staff tips. Macmillan's fundraising manager, Kaeti Morrison said: "This event is so important to us and a great excuse to have a coffee and a piece of cake."
