England netball star Pamela Cookey has opened Badminton School's new state-of-the-art fitness centre.

Pamela, 25, who plays goal attack for England, has been a member of the country's netball squad since 2002.

Rated as one of our most exciting young attacking netball players, she played a key role in helping Team England to win bronze at the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games.

Known as The Grange Fitness Centre, Badminton School's new centre has a running room with three treadmills, a conditioning room with technical equipment and a cardio room with a boxing area, cross trainers, rowing machines and bikes.

Equipment has been donated by Involved, the parents' association at the school, which raised money through fundraising initiatives including a barbecue, a ball and an auction.

Badminton is proud of its sporting record and achievements. As well as individual sportswomen who represent the UK in swimming, judo and horse riding, many pupils are county and regional level for sports including hockey, netball, tennis and swimming.
