Free night of entertainment for 12-17 year-olds this Friday

This Friday there will be a night of free entertainment for 12-17 year-olds living in Westbury On Trym, Henleaze and Stoke Bishop.
The event at Great Brockeridge Scout Hut, has been organised by volunteers who are concerned about the lack of provisions for this age group.
The event has been funded mainly by Bristol City Council as part of the Neighbourhood Partnership Scheme for these three wards.
Co-organiser of Friday's event Tracy Tainton said :"We want to provide entertainment that isn't too structured and organised - something which is not steered and geared by adults. It is not connected to a church group or an association.
"Although the age group is 12-17 year-olds - only five years difference - the older teenagers want different things than the younger ones. We have tried to make sure there is something enjoyable for everyone.
"They can play table tennis, Wii, pool, join in a fitness class or a singing workshop. Beauty therapists will be on hand to give make-overs and there is also a nail bar.
"The hall has a capacity of 100, but we are expecting around 50."
Co-organiser Liz Radford said: "There will be free pizza and drinks and an area where the teens can just chill out and chat."
"On the night everyone can enter a free prize draw to win tickets to the cinema or ice skating.
"All teens in the wards are welcome."
Tracy added: "We hope this event will help decide what sort of entertainment 12-17 year-olds in the area want, so we can advise the Neighbourhood Partnership committee on how to spend the money allocated to this age group."
The event starts at 7.30pm and runs until 9.30pm on Friday, November 27, at Great Brockeridge Scout Hut. If you have any questions about the event call Tracy Tainton on 9856640 or Liz Radford on 9621292.
