If you are interested in living a more sustainable live and want to get involved with Sustainable Westbury on Trym (SusWot), there are plenty of opportunities.
SusWot's meeting, chaired by Andy O'Brien, was held at Westbury on Trym CE Primary School tonight.
Feedback from the SusWot Eco-Fiesta held in September was positive. Visitors enjoyed the event and the traders that opened said they had good business. It was decided that there will be another similar event next year.
A date in September 2010 is to be confirmed for the green event. Ideally the local produce market will be involved and it won't clash with any other Bristol event, such as the WoT flower Show which is scheduled to take place on September 11.
On Saturday, October 24, aswell as the local produce market in the medical centre car park SusWot will also have a presence at Bristol's Climate Countdown at the Harbourside/Millennium Square.
Anyone interested in meeting SusWot members, getting involved and helping the planet should meet at the local produce market at 1pm and travel to the event together. Oh, and wear anything blue!
The SusWot Pledge Tree, that had its first outing at the Eco Fiesta, will
be there so people can pledge to live more sustainable lives. Volunteers are needed to man the stall for sessions between 3pm and 5pm. Email suswot2050@googlemail.com if you would like to get involved.
SusWot is selling "a bag for life" shopping bags for £1.50. If you would like to support SusWot by buying one then call Tracy on 07738923139.
