The only beauty school in Bristol which offers training in eyelash extensions was launched in Bristol on Thursday 17 September 2009. Bristol School of Beauty and Lash-Is Limited have joined forces to create a beauty school aimed at anyone who wants to learn the latest beauty therapies and techniques.
Students will now have the opportunity to train in the expanding business of eye lash extensions, which are a semi-permanent way to give the illusion of thicker and fuller eyelashes. Eyelash extensions are very now and extremely popular with celebrities like Beyonce Knowles, Cheryl Cole and Jennifer Lopez.
Meanwhile students are able to learn other beauty techniques at the school such as fashion and photographic make up, facials, waxing and massage.
Chrissy Henderson, eye lash extension guru and teacher says:
“Eyelash extensions are an on trend treatment for celebrities, but now everyone can look as glamorous as the stars. This is a fantastic opportunity to train in a technique that has a fast growing market, which you can then turn into a profitable business.”
Chrissy trained as a beauty technician after giving up a career in the legal profession and has never looked back. She also performs permanent make up to enhance people’s eyebrows and lips.
Chrissy has joined forces with Jane Vickers who runs Bristol School of Beauty and has been in the beauty industry for 20 years.
Jane Vickers has been in the industry for twenty years. In 1997 she entered a career in television and photographic make-up and in 2003 she joined City of Bristol College and qualified as a lecturer in Beauty Therapy while continuing to work in the industry. Jane is a qualified beauty therapist and theatrical makeup artist.
Jane thinks that now is the time, in the current economic climate to look at training for a new career. She says:
“While we are in a recession many people are looking do develop a profession in a new area of work. You may just be looking to start a new vocation, but your experience and background isn’t important just a willingness to learn.”
Bristol School of Beauty and Lash-Is Ltd launched their beauty school on Thursday 17 September at 6pm, Brunel Beauty and Medical Clinic, 145 Falcondale Road, Westbury-On-Trym, Bristol.
If you would like to work in the beauty industry, Bristol School of Beauty and Lash-Is Limited offer professional qualifications that are accredited by Vocational Training Charitable Trust (VTCT). They are also members of the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists.
