  Anyone for croquet? I've played it a few times and it's great fun! The Bristol Croquet Club at Cedar Park in Stoke Bishop is holding a couple of open days this month. • Invitation to everyone to join 5k race at Coombe Dingle this weekend

  Bristol University Students' Union is hosting a 5km race on the playing fields at Coombe Dingle on Sunday and has just decided to open it up for everyone. Called The Big 5k Race, the entry fee is £5 and all proceeds will be donated to charity. The women's race starts at 2.30pm and the men's race at 3.30pm. You can enter as an individual or in a team.   Competing at the UKA Jumps & Throws Festival, in Birmingham, former Bristol & West athlete Amy Woodman won the women's long jump with 6.12m. Bristol throwers Christina Jones and Hayley Green had steady performances in the hammer and discus respectively, while Tony Hillier cleared 4.40m in the pole vault.
